"The four
instruments that I always had the desire to learn how
to play were the violin, the piano, the flute, and the harp.
However, I placed the harp last on the list because I never thought
I would have the most wonderful opportunity of playing the harp.
I was so surprised to find out that I could play the harp when
I moved to
Atlanta
from
Battle Creek
,
MI
.
When I lived in
Battle Creek
there where no harp programs
available in the city. This is why I was so elated when I found out
that I had the chance to be taught the skills of the harp for free.
I had always assumed that because harps are such expensive instruments
there would not be any harp programs or classes
provided by public schools.
When I found out that Atlanta
was one of three cities
that had a Harp Ensemble I felt that I was truly blessed to live
in one of the cities that harp classes were available
to high school students."
